Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction 

I'm excited to be teaching this course, which made a huge difference to me when I first took it in 2010. We'll practice and embody Mindfulness through sitting, walking and lying meditation, mindful movement, discussion, and attention to everyday experience. There'll be nine classes and home practice of doing the meditations (I’ll provide recordings), noticing your everyday experience and taking a few notes.

 

MBSR started at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979. It can help you relax and thrive, learning to recognise, understand and respond better to your life's stresses and joys. Research shows it can help with many issues, including anxiety and panic attacks; work, family and financial stress; grief; headaches; depression; pain; fatigue; sleep problems. The course is suitable for people of all beliefs and none.

 

Tuesday afternoons, 3-5.20pm

Dates: 25th September, 2nd October, 9th October, 16th October, 30th October, 6th November, 13th November, 20th November, 27th November. There will also be a day of practice on Sunday 18th November, from 10am-4pm.

Deposit of £50, or full amount of £250 which includes nine classes, full day and written and audio materials. After the introductory session I’ll phone and if it’s not for you at the moment you can have a refund or book onto a course next year.
