Yoga changed me - a determinedly unsporty child and young adult knee problems meant by the age of 34 a short walk to the postbox was often beyond me. In 1994 after my first class I slept so well I tried to do the things I'd learned. After 2 weeks the pain stopped. I've done at least 15 minutes of yoga daily since and added meditation in 2004 - both are a support and a delight.
I trained in 1999 & 2000 with teacher, writer and my hero Mary Stewart, who worked with Iyengar in the 1970s and Vanda Scaravelli later. I continue to study at home and train through events such as 'Yoga for People Living with Cancer', retreats and teacher training in Yin Yoga with Sarah & Ty Powers and Paul & Suzee Grilley. I work with an eclectic mix of international and local teachers and with 'my' teacher in London, the amazing Catherine James. Recently I've been to Donna Farhi, Monica Voss, Leslie Kaminoff and Matthew Remski. I've been teaching (English) since 1982 and yoga since 1999 and am insured through the British Wheel of Yoga. I love teaching and learning from the students who come to the classes. It's a wonderful life.
