About Me
I started yoga because my back was hurting, I carried on because my back stopped hurting and then so did my knees.
Eventually I found that with a lot of work on the physical postures my mind was becoming a little quieter, and now I try to sit and breathe quietly every day. This is a picture of me doing just that on the roof of St Peter's in Rome where the lift arrives. My family went on to climb the dome and then came back to find me surrounded by other tourists - when I first closed my eyes I was completely alone.
My family had come back to get me because it turned out that the only way down was up first - a terrifying 15 minutes followed - good thing I had got so calm.
Now I don't know if what I'm doing in this picture looks impressive to you - it's not the best backbend in the world - but to me it's almost miraculous! I never did this stuff when I was a child - always too busy talking or reading. Now I can stand on my head too. Tons of stuff I still can't do, but that's half the fun.
My brother took this picture and it's as much as I can manage not to keep it in my wallet and show it to everyone I meet.
There is information about my yoga qualifications and the style I teach on the FAQ page.
